Weighted hula hoops are different than regular hula hoops. For one they are much easier to use. I never could get the hang of using a regular hula hoop. These hoops are big so make sure that you have enough room to get it spinning and once you do you will be working and toning your whole midsection with one simple exercise. Take it easy at first. It really works your abs and you do not want to overdo it and get really sore.

A general rule of thumb is the lighter the hoop the more difficult it is to keep it going. Now that does not mean that you should go right for the heaviest one you can find. Try and find one that fits your weight and then work your way towards a lighter weighted hula hoop.
